Week 8

I think I did manage to get something of this man's character with this drawing. Worked well for me.

Week 7

Turned out to be quite a caricature! It was not intentional although this bloke did have a slight air of superiority. Although he did not seem amused when viewing the final product!

Week 6

This drawing worked well. The model really does have that sort of bored depressed look.

Week 4

Not so successful this week. Needed to work on the eyes for one thing. Some shapes very linear and blockey. Questioning the style.

Week 5

This one took an entire session. I still mapped out the form initially before committing to charcoal. Ended up quite detailed.

Others commented that my work appears to be "chiselled from stone"

Week 2

Got a profile position for this week. Initial drawing had some good elements but I tried to redo proportions and lost the whole thing.

This is actually the second attempt. It was fairly rushed and at the time I wasn't really happy with it but looking back there are some good elements.
